MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) –Myrtle Beach Fire crews responded to reports of a fire in the upper floor of a hotel off Ocean Boulevard, near 75th Ave. North Thursday afternoon.

When crews arrived at the Ocean Dunes Resort on Ocean Boulevard at 201 75th Avenue North, they found visible smoke and flames coming from a room on the sixth floor, according to Myrtle Beach Fire Marshal Bruce Arnel.

It turns out an air conditioning and heating unit in a room on the sixth floor caught fire, Arnel said. The fire was out by about 12:50 p.m., and crews remained on scene after to ventilate the room.

One room sustained minor damage from the fire, Arnel said.
