MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) –The Market Common is hosting their first ever New Year's Eve bash, Southern Times Square. Tuesday evening starting at 7 p.m., there will be events happening throughout the district until the ball drops at midnight on top of the Grand 14 Theatre.
Myrtle Beach City Council members gave the green light on the event earlier this month along with closing down several streets for expected traffic during the event. Reed, Howard, Farrow, and Hackler Streets are closed from 6 a.m. on Tuesday until midnight.

*Entry to Golf Cart parade is limited to residents on the Old Myrtle Beach Air Force Base. Must sign up to enter. Cash prizes. Sign up at The Market Common Management Office

7:00 PM - 7:30 PM Golf Cart Parade
7:00 PM - 10:00 PM Face Painter (Located in front of Barnes & Noble) / Carriage Rides
8:00 PM - 11:00 PM Magician / Flame Dancers (Howard & Reed) / Photo Booth (Bijuju's) / Stilt Walkers
8:00 PM - 11:45 PM The Sugarbees (Stage on the corner of Reed & Devile St.)
11:45 PM - Midnight Times Square Feed / Mayor John Rhodes will do the countdown.
