Person of interest in credit card fraud case sought in Florence

FLORENCE COUNTY, SC (WMBF) – The Florence County Sheriff's Office is asking the public's help in locating a person of interest in a financial fraud cause.

Investigators say the alleged crime happened on or about December 11 in Florence – the suspect is alleged to have fraudulently used credit card information in buy two $500 prepaid credit cards. Investigators believe the suspect can extract credit card numbers and personal identification number after the credit card owner uses the card.

A person of interest is believed to have some knowledge or information regarding the incident. A photo of him from an in-store video surveillance camera was provided by the sheriff's office. He is described as an African-American man wearing black pants, black hat and jacket, and a gray shirt.

Anyone with information regarding his identity is asked to contact Florence County Sheriff's Office Investigators at (843) 665-2121, ext. 374 or Crime Stoppers of the Pee Dee at 1-888-CRIME-SC.  You do not have to reveal your identity to leave information.
