Lexington family helps make wishes come true

Posted: Updated:
LEXINGTON, SC (WIS) -

Over 112,000 lights play to music every night during the Holiday season at the Hite's Lexington home to help children with life-threatening medical conditions.

The Hite's put their show on every year and on Saturday they got to meet Raleigh and his family, who they helped send to Disneyland.

"Last year they raised money for Make-a-Wish Foundation which sent Raleigh and us to Disneyland out in California so he could meet the cast of Cars," said Raleigh's father Courtney Ballard. "This is actually the first opportunity we've had to meet them and we wanted to come out and say thank you and to help out the next family."

This year, the Hite's are helping a 6-year-old York girl with Leukemia go to Disney World.

"We'll this is actually the first year we've found out in advance who we are helping," said Marcy Hite. "Her wish was to go to Disney World so we are excited about being able to help her and excited that we are close, close to helping."

So far this season the light show has helped raise $3,200.

The Hite home is located on 200 Dupree Mill Road in Lexington and the show goes on until Jan 5.
