SCHP: Deadly crash in Darlington Co.

DARLINGTON COUNTY, SC (WMBF) – A automobile accident claimed the life of a Greenville man whose vehicle collided with another vehicle around 2:15 p.m., on December 28.

According to SCHP, the driver of the Ford pick-up truck failed to yield to the stop sign, which resulted in hitting a Toyota pick-up truck that was traveling North on Osleydale Rd near Hartsville.

Mr. Hugh White, 80, of Greenville, was pronounced dead at the scene by Darlington County Coroner Todd Hardee. Mr. White was the driver of the Ford pick-up truck and he was wearing a seatbealt.

According to a press release, Mr. White was visiting his family, and he and his grandson were going hunting when the accident occurred.

This incident will continue to be investigated by the SCHP and the Coroners Office.
