MBPD: Couple returns on Christmas to find home broken into

MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) – A couple left home for a period of time on Christmas, and returned to find items were stolen from their home after an apparent break-in, according to the Myrtle Beach Police Department report.

The victims left home around 10 a.m., and returned at approximately 8 p.m. They met police outside and showed where the sliding glass back door was forced open and items were missing.

Crime scene was called and officers searched the home.

Stolen items include a limited edition white Sony Playstation 3, two Playstation 3 wireless controllers, and approximately 10 Playstation 3 video games. Additionally a blue Ibenez Bass guitar and a Microsoft Asus laptop and power cord.

The police report said the residence did not appear to have been rifled through, and it seemed that the suspect knew what he or she was looking for, and where to find it, before entering the residence.

The Playstation, Playstation accessories and laptop were in the downstairs living room, the first room through the back door. The guitar was in the upstairs art room in the corner of the room on its stand.

The residents said they thought it unlikely that someone they know is responsible.
