MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) – Police are searching for a suspect after a married couple staying in a rented cottage in Myrtle Beach told police they were burglarized very early Monday morning.
One of the victims said he and his wife went to sleep at 9 p.m. Sunday, and he woke up around 2:30 a.m. Monday and said no items were missing from their bedroom. He woke up again around 4:30 a.m. and said he noticed a light had been turned on in another bedroom, he noticed items missing from their bedroom, and the back door was sitting open.
The items missing include wallets, diamond rings, wrist watches, a social security card, several checkbooks and banking cards, several hundreds of dollars in cash, a digital camera, a laptop, as well as numerous other objects.
When the couple returned to the room, they discovered a window in the rear of the cottage was slightly open, and it appeared the suspect used a tool to pry it open and, once inside, close it.
