Brunswick County Sheriff's Office investigates suspicious death

BRUNSWICK, COUNTY (WMBF) – Brunswick County deputies responded to a welfare check on Simmons Road at approximately 3 p.m. on Saturday afternoon to find a 69-year-old man dead, according to a news release from Brunswick County Sheriff's Office spokeswoman Emily Flax.

Deputies found Tony Kusta deceased upon arrival. The cause of death will be determined after an autopsy, but does appear to be suspicious, Flax stated. Brunswick County deputies are asking that anyone with information contact Capt. Sam Davis, at 910-547-7181 or by e-mail at sdavis@brunsco.net. This investigation is active and ongoing.
