Florence One students advance during Robotics Competition

FLORENCE, SC (WMBF) – Florence One had three of their five students advance to the state competition, during Lego League Robotics Regional Competition known as FIRST, For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology.

According to Florence School District One, the John W. Moore RoboLions won first place with "The Wizard of Floz," a skit to suggest improvements in Wireless Emergency Alerts (WEA).  Sneed Middle School's IceMasters received a second place Project Award with their Lego solar panels, that would store heat to hinder black ice on bridges. Finally, Williams Middle's Bengalbots took second place in core values with a skit called, "Nature's Fury," that focused on preparedness for hazardous weather conditions.

All three of the competitors advanced to the state competition that will be held this February in Lexington.
