CONWAY, SC (WMBF) - A Myrtle Beach man is behind bars on drug charges after police caught him in the act of purchasing drugs.

On Wednesday, Dec. 4, an Horry County Police officer saw 34-year-old Ervin Carlyle Brock in a Conway area parking lot. According to the police report, Brock intended to purchase 15 pounds of marijuana for $30,000.

After an exchange took place, detectives arrived and arrested Brock.

They found a large amount of money under a towel in his truck where they also found the marijuana and a gun. Police then found packets of heroin in his front pocket.

Brock was taken to J. Reuben Long Detention Center and charged with trafficking in marijuana and distribution and possession of narcotic drugs.

Horry County Police say the case is still being investigated and more arrests are likely on the way.
