HARTSVILLE, SC (WMBF) - Hartsville Police are investigating the shooting of a 58-year-old man on Bell Avenue in Hartsville Wednesday night.

The shooting victim was found in the street outside the 400 block of Bell Avenue at about 9:40 p.m. Wednesday, according to a news release from the Hartsville Police Department. The injury was superficial, and the man was released from a nearby hospital shortly after being treated.

The victim said he had been robbed, but is not cooperating with police, the release states.

The Darlington County bloodhound team assisted in the search for suspects, but there are no leads on a suspect or suspects at this time.

According to Chief James Hudson, police have no reason to believe this shooting is connected to the fatal shooting of a 21-month-old child that occurred on the same road on Monday, December 2.

Anything with information on Wednesday's shooting is asked to contact HPD at 843-383-3011 or South Carolina Crime Stoppers at 1-888-CRIME-SC.
