"Look Good...Feel Better" Event Gives Makeovers to Local Cancer Patients During Holiday Season
MYRTLE BEACH, SC — Coastal Cancer Center and the American Cancer Society are teaming up to bring holiday cheer and makeovers to local women undergoing cancer treatment during its next "Look Good...Feel Better" session on December 9.
The free two-hour session from 2-4 pm. will take place at Coastal Cancer Center's Myrtle Beach office, located at 8121 Rourk Street. It is Coastal Cancer Center's last "Look Good...Feel Better" session for 2013.
The "Look Good... Feel Better" meeting, co-hosted with the American Cancer Society, teams up cosmetology professionals with women in cancer treatment to help patients better understand changes to their hair, nails, skin and physical appearance during chemotherapy or radiation.
Professionals also guide participants in make-up application, turban styling and wig care during the session. All women in attendance receive complimentary make-up kits.
Women in cancer treatment or within six months before or after having treatments can register by calling 1-800-227-2345.
Medical oncologists Dr. Lawrence Holt, Dr. Renwick Goldberg, Dr. Vijay Paudel, Dr. Rebecca Cody, Dr. Matthew Karpenko and Dr. Emily Touloukian provide patient care at Coastal Cancer Center's five locations. Coastal Cancer Center's physicians and staff are trained in oncology and hematology, providing chemotherapy administration, laboratory support, PET, CT, X-ray services and the most up-to date medical advances for patlen ts undergoing cancer treatment.
