LORIS, SC (WMBF) – Firefighters in Loris responded to a fire at a mobile home on Lake Drive early Monday morning, confirmed Fire Chief Jerry Hardee.

The fire originated in the bedroom of a single-wide mobile home in the 3200 block of Lake Drive, Chief Hardee said. No one was home; he believes the residents were out of town at the time.

Loris Volunteer Fire Department crews were on scene at about 4 a.m. The room was destroyed, but the rest of the home received just smoke damage, added Chief Hardee.

They are still working to determine what caused the fire.
