PAWLEYS ISLAND, SC (WMBF) – Crews from multiple fire departments responded to a structure fire at a Pawleys Island drywall company Monday morning, officials confirmed.

The fire was reported at Cohen's Drywall, located on Petigru Road. The owners were on site when the fire stated, and less than 50 percent of the warehouse's first and second floor were affected by the fire, an official with Midway Fire Rescue said. The front-right section of the building is where the most damage occurred.

Most of the fire was knocked out and under control by 10:30 a.m., said Todd Blomdahl, Division Chief with Midway Fire Rescue. Units from Midway Fire, Horry County Fire Rescue, Georgetown EMS, Georgetown City Fire, and Murrells Inlet Fire Department responded.
