FLORENCE, SC (WMBF) - A Sneed Middle School student has been arrested after allegedly spray painting a message on a school building, officials confirmed.
The Florence County Sheriff's Office announced the arrest on Friday afternoon via Facebook.
Graffiti was painted on the south end of the school building, and prompted parents to call the police. The spray painted message contained no threat to the school, faculty, or students, officials stated.
"Some students at Sneed erroneously notified parents that there had been a bomb threat made at the school. As a result, many parents picked up their children prior to dismissal at Sneed Middle on Friday," said Pam Little-McDaniel, school district spokeswoman.
The student responsible for the incident is subject to consequences as mandated by the Florence One Discipline Code Book.
