CONWAY - After committing during his junior year, Conway senior pitcher Grant Holmes made things official by signing his letter of intent with University of Florida today. Holmes also yielded offers from the likes of South Carolina, Clemson and Georgia among others.
Last season, he went 6-1, with a 0.40 ERA for the Tigers. He will be eligible for the MLB First Year Player Draft next summer, and is projected to go in the first round. But Holmes isn't thinking about that now. He is just excited about the fit he has found at Florida.
"I chose UF because of how good the program is, and how much I liked Sully (head coach Kevin O'Sullivan)," Holmes said. "He's a good coach and takes care of his pitchers."
