HORRY COUNTY, SC (WMBF) - A teen student has been charged with disturbing schools after his resource officer heard him encourage another student to steal and use his gun.

The school resource office at Green Sea-Floyds High School was in his office on Nov. 14 when 17-year-old Demarkus Quantrel Alford and another student were waiting in the wall to see their principal.

After going to get coffee, the SRO returned to his office where one of the students asked about his gun. When he sat back down at his desk, the officer heard Alford say, "snatch the gun from holster, put it to his head, and pull the trigger," the police report states.

Alford was arrested, taken to J. Reuben Long Detention Center, and charged with disturbing schools.

He was given a $500 bond.
