MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) - Before you make plans for dinner out this weekend, we checked with DHEC to find out how Key West Crazy and 701 Seafood Market and Grill scored on their recent health inspections.

Key West Crazy got a drop in from DHEC and can expect to see an inspector return.

The Little River restaurant was cited for thawing fish in the same sink that the detergent dispenser hose was in.

It received a total of two critical violations - both were corrected. Some other minor violations include the ice bin scooper missing a handle.

Key West Crazy scored an 82, a "B" rating. The riverfront restaurant owners did not want to speak on camera but did give me a statement.

"I would like to state that had we not had an improper back flow valve on a mop sink and a few loose towels on the floor, we would've maintained our a status," says part owner Tasha Hefner.

701 Seafood Market and Grill had the same exact score.

When I spoke to the restaurant manager he said, "We have the best seafood in Loris, a good health grade and we ask that you come see Pelo for the best seafood in the world."

DHEC inspectors cited this spot for two critical violations. One was for improper food temperature, the other was for improper hygiene.

Both violations were corrected while inspectors were present.

DHEC noted a few other violations, including built up grime on refrigerator handles and dirty floor drains.

The Loris restaurant had a follow up inspection from DHEC inspectors yesterday for a chance to improve their score. I called DHEC for that score, but it is not yet available.
