Storm Team tracking rare Nov. snow, LIVE team coverage at 11

MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) - The cold weather creeping into the Carolinas has affected much more than the thermostat.

Midway Fire Rescue said on their Twitter account that power lines had fallen on Country Club and Melrose in the Litchfield Country Club.

Storm Team Meteorologist Jamie Arnold says the National Weather Service has received reports of steady sleet in Laurinburg, and a mix of rain, sleet and light snow in Darlington.

Our Skycam overlooking the Florence-Darlington Technical College showed light snow flurries, but that snow will not be accumulating.

Progress Energy is reporting the following outages (@9:30 p.m.):

Darlington County - 129

Florence County - 131

Marion County - 52

Robeson County - 36

Horry Electric reports 114 members were without power on Highway 501 north of Conway around the same time.

Over the next few hours, this area of light rain will move our way as temps continue to fall. It's looking a bit more likely that at least snow flurries will fly across the inland areas between 9pm and 11pm. Turn on those porch lights and look for the flakes. Make sure you let us know if you see any.
