Counterfeit bills exchanged in Craigslist sale

MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) - A man wishing to sell his television on Craigslist got a big surprise when he was paid in counterfeit bills.

According to Horry County Police, a seller met a man in the Kroger parking lot in Carolina Forest to sell his television after posting an ad on Craigslist.

They exchanged appliance for cash, but when the seller got home he found out the bills were fake.

Police could not find the man on the grocery store's surveillance video or by calling his phone number. He is described as a 30-year-old black male standing 5-foot-10 and weighing around 165 pounds.
