Americans use about 50 billion plastic water bottles a year and recycling saves twice as much energy as burning it in an incinerator. Zorianna shares how you can turn the top of a plastic water bottle into a handy kitchen gadget.
A great idea is to reuse the top of a plastic bottle by turning the cap into a great kitchen gadget called "the plastic capper." Not only does it serve as an airtight seal for plastic bags, but has a pour-spout, as well.
Just press down on the neck of a plastic water bottle to flatten it as much as possible and cut into it using a sharp pair of scissors. Trim off the entire bottle cap with about a one-inch plastic collar. Then unscrew the cap, pull a plastic bag through the opening, fold it over the collar and screw the lid back on.
