A Myrtle Beach area man has been charged with sexual assault after the victim said the suspect used fear of deportation to coerce her into the acts, according to a police report.
Regis Alexandre Carlo De Souza, 41, of the 600 block of White River Drive in the River Oaks area, has been charged with four counts of criminal sexual conduct, second degree.
Bond has been set at $25,000 and the suspect remained behind bars as of this posting.
According to a police report, the victim said she believed the suspect was an immigration agent. She also said she thought he was her friend.
The woman said the suspect sexually assaulted her four times since June 27, 2012, the report said.
The incidents occurred at a home on Osceola Street.
