COLUMBIA, SC (WMBF) – A Dillon man was sentenced Wednesday to life imprisonment on two criminal sexual conduct charges after a jury heard testimony that he lured several children to his home where he sexually molested them.
Sammy Lee Scarborough, 43, was conducted in Dillon General Sessions County of two counts of first degree criminal sexual conduct with a minor and three counts of unlawful dissemination of obscene material, according to a news release from the Office of the South Carolina Attorney General
It was revealed during the trial that Scarborough used balloons, candy and footballs to lure several children, aged 4 to 7, to his home, where he sexually molested them.
Dillon Police tried to serve arrest warrants to Scarborough in 2012, but found he had fled to Virginia. He was arrested there several months later by U.S. Marshals.
Scarborough will serve life imprisonment and five years each on the unlawful dissemination charges, the maximum punishment allowed by law.
