ALBUQUERQUE, NM (KRQE/CNN) – A horse slaughterhouse in New Mexico finally gets the OK to open.
Federal court Judge Christina Armijo ruled on Friday that the Valley Meat Facility in Roswell, NM doesn't need to undergo an environmental review.
That means the company can open following two years of legal fights.
The judge's decision comes following the expiration of a temporary restraining order that prevented Valley Meat from operating.
Critics of hours slaughtering say environmental reviews are necessary.
The state's attorney general says he may appeal the judge's decision.
The slaughtered house meat will be shipped overseas.
