Chants welcome in Charlotte on Saturday

CCU ready to stop Charlotte offense

CONWAY - Coastal Carolina takes a break from the Big South Conference schedule this week to prepare for a different kind of opponent, welcoming the start-up program University of Charlotte to Brooks Stadium on Saturday.

It is the first year in which the Niners are playing against opponents in the program's history. The team practiced, but could not participate all of last season. They will soon move to the FBS level as well. They are 4-4 this year, with wins over Gardner-Webb and Presbyterian. They're also averaging better than 31 points per game, and that has Coastal Carolina in a defensive mindset when it comes to going against them.

Chants head coach Joe Moglia feels as if their offense is similar to that of his teams. Click above to hear from CCU on the team's upcoming matchup.
