ROBESON COUNTY, NC (WMBF) – One brother has been charged with murder and another has been charged as an accessory after a Robeson County man was found shot in the head after a home invasion, sheriff's officials confirm.
On the night of Friday, October 25, the Robeson County Sheriff's Office was called to a home invasion and shooting in the 300 block of Lombardy Village Road in the Shannon area, according to a news release.
Law enforcement officers found 34-year-old Ernest Scurlock dead inside his home with a gunshot wound to the head. He had been shot and robbed, officials stated.
Charles Willie Thomas was arrested and charged with first-degree murder and robbery with a dangerous weapon. His brother, Edward Lee Thomas, was arrested and charged with accessory after the fact of murder.
Both are in the Robeson County Detention Center, and the investigation is ongoing.
