LITTLE RIVER, SC (WMBF) – The Horry County Police Department is investigating a slashing that occurred at a Kangaroo gas station Saturday night, said Lt. Robert Kegler with the HCPD.

Lieutenant Kegler said sometime around 9:30 p.m. Saturday a woman was pumping gas at the Kangaroo at 1599 Highway 17 in Little River. A female suspect, identified in the police report as 21-year-old Ladejia Shantell Hill, drove up to the gas station, got out of her car, and then slashed the woman with a knife multiple times.

An unknown man got out of a red Toyota Corolla and broke the fight up, the report states. Hill and the man got in the same vehicle and left the scene, heading south on Highway 17.

The victim was taken to the hospital with several deep lacerations to her chest, leg and arm, the report states. Lieutenant Kegler said she sustained non-life threatening injuries. The HCPD is investigating the incident, and he said it appears the suspect and victim know each other.
