MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) – A Myrtle Beach mother has been arrested after she and her four-day-old child both tested positive for marijuana.

Chaslyn Amber Summers, 34, was arrested Thursday and charged with unlawful neglect of a child, driving under suspension, and failure to appear.

According to the Myrtle Beach Police report, a Department of Social Services agent told an MBPD officer that the infant's toxicology report came back positive for cannabinoids, the active chemical in marijuana. The agent said the mother also tested positive at the time of birth.

Summers was not on scene, and DSS took custody of the child. The MBPD officer signed a warrant for Summers's arrest, and she was booked into J. Reuben Long Detention Center on Thursday morning.
