MBPD called after men in Halloween masks are seen on porch

MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) – Police responded to an address on Columbia Drive around 2 a.m. Wednesday morning after a man called about an attempted break-in at his home that happened around 11 p.m. Tuesday.

The victim said he was in the back of his home talking to his wife when the two women at his house witnessed the attempted burglary, according to the police report.

One of the women said she was in the bathroom, located beside the front door, with the door open when she heard the front screen door open and the door knob jiggle. The other woman said she shouted "who is it", heard the screen door shut and the person run off.

The women said a short time later they heard the screen door open again. One of the women peeked out and saw someone in a green Halloween mask and gray sweatshirt, and another person wearing a Halloween mask and a black shirt. She said one of the suspects had his foot up, and looked like he was going to kick the door in. They called 911, and the suspects ran off.
