MBPD: 17.63 carat pendant among missing items after home break-in

MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) – Myrtle Beach police are seeking information regarding a burglary that occurred on North Ocean Blvd Tuesday morning.

The victim said his wife left the home at 7:30 a.m. Tuesday, and when the nanny arrived at the house at 11:45 a.m., the glass around the door was broken.  Officers cleared the residence and did not find anyone in the home.

The victim went inside his house and found drawers opened, and closets and bedrooms ransacked. He stated a black safe that was inside his office was stolen. It contained passports, car titles, birth certificates, $500, a pair of diamond earrings, a gold diamond necklace and checkbooks. On top of this, a large amount of jewelry was taken from the bedroom and bedroom closet including pearl and diamond earrings, amethyst and diamond rings, a sapphire chain, a custom 17.63 carat amethyst pendant and more.

The police report states it appears the glass frame around the front door was kicked in. They believe the suspect stuck his arm in and unlocked the door after to gain entry. Neighbors and construction workers nearby were unable to provide any information into possible suspects.
