HORRY COUNTY, SC (WMBF) – A 50-year-old Myrtle Beach man was arrested Sunday and charged with criminal sexual conduct with a minor after allegedly performing a sexual act on a 15-year-old boy.

Myrtle Beach resident David Glenn Frenton was booked into J. Reuben Long Detention Center Sunday morning and was released on a $20,000 bond. According to the Horry County Police report, Frenton called out to the boy as he was walking home through a short cut on the evening of Monday, October 14.

The boy admitted to police that he took a few sips of a beer Frenton gave him, and then they both went inside a building. Once inside, Frenton began to sexually assault the boy, the police report states. The 15-year-old victim became uncomfortable, left the shop, and immediately called the police.

While officers were on the scene, the victim received two text messages from the suspect, one read: "Sorry it wont happen again [sic]" and another read "Sorry," the report states. The phone was placed into evidence.

The victim's mother, who was also on scene, told officers that her son has been diagnosed with a mental disability, "that causes issues with his processing of information and reactionary time after processing thoughts."

Officers were unable to locate Frenton that evening, but he was later arrested and charged.
