Rain in the forecast on busy weekend

Posted: Updated:

After a rainy Friday night, more showers are in the forecast on Saturday with the best chance being closer to the coast.

Highs will be in the low to mid 70s. Drier moves in beginning Sunday.

If you're willing to dodge a shower or two, there are several events planned in the Grand Strand this weekend:

On Saturday, the Town of Aynor is celebrating its centennial.

The Town of Loris is also hosting it's 34th annual Bog-Off Festival. There will be more than 200 craft, retail, and food vendors for the 25,000 people expected to attend. And don't forget about the chicken bog cooking contest, live music, fireworks, children's pavilion and much more.

The Myrtle Beach Mini-Marathon starts bright and early Saturday morning and will cause a few lane closures as runners make their way through town.

Also on Saturday, the Church of the Resurrection in Surfside Beach will be distributing free food and lunch to anyone in need.
