A 12-year-old girl killed herself because of alleged bullying. This tragedy should not have happened. It's time for parents to start parenting.

Consider This:

Bullying today is much worse that it was when I was a child. With online abuse and bullies posting their venom anonymously, it's unrelenting on a child who is the target. This most recent tragedy was in Florida, but bullying is going on here as well. Ocean Bay Middle School is dealing with an online hate group that targeted students with photos and hate speech.

In the county where this latest tragedy happened, Florida Sheriff Grady Judd is now investigating whether parents of the girls knowingly allowed them to post the bullying comments online. If they did, he plans to file charges. Sheriff Judd knows that is one way to get everyone's attention.

Parents… wake up. There are times when you can't and shouldn't be your child's best friend. Anytime your child is being a bully is one of those times.
