SCDPS releases traffic fatality stats

HORRY COUNTY, SC (WMBF) – The South Carolina Department of Public Safety released the number of traffic fatalities in South Carolina from January 1, 2013 until October 14, 2013, and how this year compares to the last few years' numbers in the same time frame.

In South Carolina, there have been 543 fatal crashes so far in 2013, which compares to 613 in the same time period in 2012. In those crashes, 582 people have been killed during 2013, while 656 were killed in 2012.

We have compiled the number of fatalities from January 1 thru October 14 for 2010, 2011, 2012 and 2013 from each county in our viewing area.

    PAWLEYS ISLAND, SC (WMBF) - A woman is recovering Sunday after a shooting in the parking lot of a Pawleys Island restaurant sent her to the hospital. According to Georgetown Sheriff's Office spokesperson Jason Lesley, the woman was shot outside of the SandBar on Ocean Hwy before fleeing to a nearby convenience store.     LUMBERTON, NC (WMBF) - A suspect is behind bars Saturday, charged with murder in connection to the death of 85-year-old Rufus Revels of Lumberton County.
