Report: 3 men ransack home after leading victim there at gunpoint

MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) – A man reported to police that he was punched in the face while on a walk early Thursday morning, then forced back to his apartment at gunpoint by three men who ransacked the place.

The 23-year-old man told police that he was out walking around his apartment on Greens Boulevard at about 1:15 a.m. when he saw three men, one of whom asked to use his cell phone. The victim complied, and as he noticed a gun in one of the men's waistbands, another man punched him in the face with brass knuckles, according to the police report.

The victim was then forced to walk with the men back to his apartment at gunpoint. He was led to the bedroom while the suspects went through his belongings. Among the items stolen were an XBOX 360, 12 games, 2 controllers, a cell phone, an HP laptop, and an IBM ThinkPad, according to the report.

The suspects told the victim lie face-down on his bed for 20 minutes, and about five to eight minutes later, he drove to his mother's house, the report states. His mother escorted him to the Myrtle Beach Police Department, where he gave his statement.

Crime scene investigators interviewed the victim and police entered his cell phone number into the National Crime Information Center database.
