Florence high school student arrested for making bomb threat

FLORENCE, SC (WMBF) – An 18-year-old Wilson High School student was arrested Tuesday for making a false bomb threat to a teacher, an official stated.

Deveon Mequell Addison told a teacher that a bomb would go off in a short specified period of time, according to Florence County Sheriff's Office investigators. The threat was found to be false.

Addison has been charged with one count of conveying false information regarding a bomb threat (first offense), a felony punishable by one to 10 years in prison, according to a Facebook post by Florence County Sheriff Kenney Boone.

Addison was booked into Florence County Detention center Tuesday afternoon.
