Gambling machines seized from Conway bar destroyed

Posted: Updated:

CONWAY, SC (WMBF) - Five illegal gambling machines were seized from an ale house in Conway and destroyed, according to the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division.

SLED spokesman Thom Berry said the "Pot o' Gold" machines were seized from the Coastal Ale House on August 21 and taken to a magistrate judge who ruled the machines were illegal. He ordered that the machines be destroyed.

Coastal Carolina University's police department assisted with the operation, but no arrested were made.

The operation was the result of a complaint made against the business. The Coastal Ale House is just half a mile from Coastal Carolina's campus on Waccamaw Medical Park Drive.
