Driver, cashier injured after crash at Florence Dollar General

Posted: Updated:

CONWAY, SC (WMBF) - Two people were taken to the hospital after a car crashed through the front door of a Dollar General in Florence.

Florence City Police spokesman Major Carlos Raines confirms one of the injured was the female driver of a 2010 Jeep pulling into the parking spot directly in front of the door of the store on South Irby Street around 10:30 a.m. Wednesday.

Unfortunately, her Jeep did not stop and struck a checkout counter. The cashier at that counter was also taken to the hospital with injuries. No customers were harmed in the crash, including the man who had just entered the store moments before it happened.

Major Raines says the crash is still being investigated, and no charges have been filed at this time.
