Teen charged for allegedly starting fire in school bathroom

CONWAY, SC (WMBF) – Horry County Fire Rescue responded to the PALM Charter High School Tuesday, where a 17-year-old student allegedly set a fire in a restroom intentionally.

David Ellis Isley, of Conway, was arrested Wednesday morning and charged with third-degree arson and disturbing schools. According to the Horry County Police report, HCFR crews put out a fire in a portable restroom Tuesday morning. The fire investigator determined the fire was set intentionally near the thermostat, causing minimal damage.

Isley was later released from J. Reuben Long Detention Center.
