Whooping cough is a serious illness that can be deadly for kids. And, the cases are increasing.
Vaccinations are the best way to protect your family from contracting this illness. And it is now required for all students in South Carolina. In Horry County, the deadline for students to get the Tdap vaccine is October 4th or they will not be able to attend school. The vaccine protects students from tetanus, diphtheria and whooping cough.
With kids back in school, whooping cough can quickly spread. And the outbreaks in several states have been linked to parents who refuse to have their kids vaccinated.
Call your pediatrician or DHEC to make sure your kids are protected.
