Bojangles opens doors in Carolina Forest

Posted: Updated:

CAROLINA FOREST, SC (WMBF) - The latest bit of construction on International Drive is complete and opening its doors.

The ninth Bojangles location in Horry County to open in the latest decade will began serving Carolina Forest residents on Tuesday. Owners picked this location on International Drive because of future development and the amount of people who live in the area. Those involved with the franchise tell WMBF News recent years have shown impressive growth, and despite the economy, Horry County is still a place that's good for business.

But not just with Bojangles - right now a lot of the county's development is happening in Carolina Forest. If you go down International Drive, it looks like a huge work zone, and it's happened quickly.

Bojangles Operating Partner Alan Chestnut tells WMBF News there were plans to open up a restaurant in Carolina Forest for a while, but businesses are realizing now is the time to move.

"It's just a booming spot," said Chestnut. "A lot of construction going on around us. We kind of timed this for this situation, with school starting back."

The next two businesses in the works on International Drive will have their opening day soon-- the Lowes Grocery store is slated to open in 2014, and the CVS Pharmacy in 2015.
