DEW offers services for employees impacted by Front Street Fire

Below is a news release from the South Carolina Department of Employment and Workforce:

Workforce services available to workers impacted by Georgetown fire

The SC Department of Employment and Workforce and SC Works are offering resources to both business owners and employees impacted by the Georgetown fire.

The goal is to help affected workers get the help they need and return to work as quickly as possible. 

On October 2, the SCDEW will hold an employment services meeting for workers disabled by the Georgetown fire at the Waccamaw Regional Council of Governments. The meetings will be 9:30 a.m. and 11 a.m. at 1230 Highmarket Street in Georgetown.

Resources include:

  • Information and guidance about filing for Unemployment Insurance online via mybenefits.dew.sc.gov or by phone at 1.866.831.1724. Live assistance is available from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays.
  • SC Works Online Services (jobs.scworks.org) registration
  • Searching for work using SC Works Online Services
  • Resume writing services
  • Training resources

Individuals are also encouraged to visit the Georgetown SC Works center at 2705 High Market St. to learn more about re-employment services.

They also can log on to mybenefits.dew.sc.gov  and jobs.scworks.org at any time.
