Newly-certified firefighters assist at Front Street Fire

NORTH MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) – A group of firefighters from North Myrtle Beach, Mullins and Conway assisted at the Front Street Fire in Georgetown just one day after passing their certification exam.

The new hires completed their IRSAC Firefighter I Training Class with a 100 percent pass  rate on September 24, and the next day, they responded to assist in the overhaul and cleanup in Georgetown. The class was made up of five North Myrtle Beach public safety officers, one North Myrtle Beach firefighter, one Mullins firefighter and one Conway firefighter.

The newly-certified firefighters will finish up their recruit training next week with training on Hazardous Materials Operations.
