Georgetown dietitians teaching nutrition label info

GEORGETOWN COUNTY, SC (WMBF) – Have you ever looked at a nutrition label, and tried deciphering the package information only to give up? Georgetown Hospital System dietitians are holding two free Supermarket Tours in October to help people understand what the ingredients and numbers on labels mean.

The first stop is on Wednesday, October 2 at the Pawleys Island Food Lion on Highway 17. The second will be at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, October 29 at the Georgetown Walmart on South Frasier Street.

The dietitians will teach attendees how to read labels and ingredients, pick healthy snacks, shop on a budget and how marketing influences our food choices.

Space is limited, so call 843-520-8288 to register.
