TIMMONSVILLE, SC (WMBF) – Fire departments from West Florence and Timmonsville worked to extinguish flames at a building on West Main Street and North Warren Street early Tuesday morning.

According to Captain Fox with the WFFD, firefighters were dispatched at approximately 3:02 a.m., and found heavy fire in the rear of the building. The firefighters on the scene were able to contain the fire to the building, which houses two businesses.

Captain Fox said the fire began in the arcade inside the building, and the Florence County Sheriff's office is investigating the fire as suspicious. Crews are still on the scene conducting clean-up operations.

Luckily, no one was inside the building during the fire.

The Timmonsville City Fire Department was assisted by the West Florence Fire Department and the Sardis Timmonsville Fire Department.
