GCSO charges 2 for Cooter's Country Store armed robbery

GEORGETOWN COUNTY, SC (WMBF) – Two suspects have been charged in connection to an armed robbery at the Cooter's Country Store in Georgetown County that occurred on September 23. 

At approximately 10 p.m. on September 23, the GCSO says two suspects entered Cooter's Convenience Store and demanded the clerk give them money. They took an undetermined amount of cash, and other items before fleeing in a silver, two-door vehicle onto Pennyroyal Road.

Police arrested Nigel Omar Vanderhorst, 26-years-old, of McClellanville, SC and Josh Lamar Green, 23-years-old, also of McClellanville, SC, for the armed robbery of Cooter's.

Through an extensive investigation, Vanderhorst and Green were identified as the two suspects, according to the GCSO. They are each charged with one count of armed robbery, and are awaiting a bond hearing.

Both Vanderhorst and Green are being detained at the Georgetown County Detention Center on charges from another agency, for two armed robberies in Georgetown that took place on October 12.
