Saturday night shooting in Conway leaves two people dead

CONWAY, SC (WMBF) - Conway Police are investigating a shooting that occurred late Saturday night that left two people dead.

According to Conway Police, the shooting occurred at Mill Pond Bingo at 1410 Millpond Road in Conway around 10:47 p.m. Saturday night. When police arrived, they found a male and female who had been shot.

The shooter, Richard Register, 41, of Conway, shot his estranged girlfriend, Ebony Parson, 28, also of Conway. He then turned the 20-guage shotgun on himself, reports state.

Police estimate 10 to 20 people were inside the bingo hall when the incident occurred.

The Conway Police Department verified that on September 4, Register was arrested and taken to the J. Reuben Long Detention Center. He was charged with kidnapping and criminal domestic violence of a high and aggravated nature. 

According to the police report, Register and Parson had been living together for two years, and after they got into an argument, he punched her in the back of the head and kicked her. Parson told police Register held her against her will, and she waited until he fell asleep to leave the house and call police.
