SC Secretary of State accepting Angel nominations

COLUMBIA, SC (WMBF) – South Carolina Secretary of State Mark Hammond announced his office is accepting nominations of charitable organizations for this year's Angel awards.

Each year, the Secretary of State honors selected charitable organizations that meet  certain requirements as "Angels." To be considered, the organization must use at least 80 percent of proceeds for charitable services, it must have been in existence for three years or more, make good use of volunteer assistance, and not rely heavily on government grants or grants from other organizations.

Letters of nomination for the 2013 Angels may be sent to the Secretary of State's Office, Division of Public Charities, 1205 Pendleton Street, Suite 525, Columbia, SC 29201. Nominations may also be sent to Included in the letter of nomination should be the name of the organization, it's location and contact information and reasons why the organization should be honored as an Angel.
