FLORENCE COUNTY, SC (WMBF) - The Florence County Council has called an emergency meeting to discuss "a legal issue."
The meeting notice from the Florence County Council says council members will meet on Friday, Sept. 6 at 8:30 a.m. in council chambers on North Irby Street. This meeting will be open to the public.
The council is meeting to discuss a legal issue, centered around a lawsuit against the county brought by the State of South Carolina and the Department of Revenue.
They will also discuss their request to have the South Carolina Association of Counties file a briefing on the county's behalf.
