MBPD: Woman cited for locking 2 dogs in hot truck

MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) – A North Carolina woman was cited after police found two dogs locked in her hot truck Saturday afternoon.

A Myrtle Beach Police officer responded to the parking lot of the Denny's at 800 S. Kings Highway at about noon Saturday, according to a MBPD police report. The officer found a dachshund and a Yorkshire Terrier inside a pick-up. The terrier was panting heavily.

The windows were down about two inches, and the temperature inside the truck was 101 degrees, according to the police report.

A 35-year-old woman from Greensboro, North Carolina was cited for a misdemeanor count of abandoned/mistreated animals.
